Community Rules
Whot, Draughts, Ludo and Ayo have always been played around people you know. These are the table manners that keep NaijaGamez feeling that way — for half a million players, not just the loud ones.
The spirit of the table
One rule sits above the rest: play like your opponent is sitting across from you. If you wouldn't say it at your aunty's dining table with the board between you, don't type it here.
These rules apply everywhere in NaijaGamez — match chat, club names, usernames, avatars, tournament rooms and support tickets.
Be a good opponent
- Finish the matches you start. Rage-quitting wastes everyone's evening.
- Don't stall the clock to frustrate someone into leaving.
- Win and lose gracefully. Gloating emote-spam after a win is still harassment.
- Respect house rules a lobby has set before you joined.
Leaving a ranked match early counts as a loss and returns your opponent's stake. Do it repeatedly and matchmaking will start pairing you with other quitters.
Fair play
These will cost you your account:
- Bots, macros and modified clients. Play with your own hands.
- Collusion. Teaming up with another player against the rest of a table, including feeding coins to a second account.
- Multi-accounting to farm rewards, dodge a ban, or inflate a ranking.
- Exploiting bugs. Found one? Report it — we pay coin bounties for good reports.
- Match-fixing of any kind, in casual or ranked play.
Shuffles and dice rolls are generated server-side and can be independently verified after a match, so "the game cheated" claims can always be checked. Ask support and we'll walk you through the log.
Chat & emotes
Banter is part of the game. These are not:
- Hate speech or slurs targeting ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, disability or sexuality.
- Threats of violence, doxxing, or sharing anyone's personal information.
- Sexual content, or any sexual approach to a player who is or appears to be a minor.
- Spam, advertising, referral links, or promoting other apps.
- Impersonating NaijaGamez staff or a moderator.
You can mute any player instantly from the table, and turn chat off entirely in Settings → Privacy → Chat. Muting is private — the other player isn't told.
Names, avatars & clubs
Your username, club name and club description are public. Keep them clean of slurs, sexual content, real-world hate symbols, and impersonation of real people or of our staff.
We'll rename rather than ban where the intent looks harmless, and we'll let you choose the replacement where we reasonably can.
Coins, trading & scams
- Don't buy, sell or trade accounts, coins or ranks — inside or outside the app.
- Nobody from NaijaGamez will ever ask for your password or a one-time code.
- Offers to "top up your coins cheap" are always a scam. Report them.
- Don't pressure other players into off-platform bets or transfers.
Reporting a player
Reports are read by people, and every one gets a decision.
From inside a match
- Tap the player's avatar at the table.
- Choose Report, pick the closest reason, and add a note if it helps.
- Submit. The chat log for that match is attached automatically.
After a match
Open Profile → Match history, select the game, and report from there. Match logs stay available for 12 months.
Something urgent — a threat, or a risk to a child? Email hello@ossaispace.com and put URGENT in the subject. That inbox is monitored every day.
Filing knowingly false reports to punish an opponent is itself a breach of these rules.
How we enforce
We weigh what happened, whether it was deliberate, and what came before it. Most first offences get a warning; the serious ones don't.
| Level | What it looks like | Typical outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | A first, minor slip — heated chat, one early quit | In-app notice, no penalty |
| Chat mute | Repeat abusive language | 24 hours to 30 days |
| Rank reset | Disconnect abuse, reward farming | Season rank and rewards removed |
| Suspension | Cheating, collusion, harassment | 7 to 90 days, coins frozen |
| Permanent ban | Bots, scams, threats, child-safety breaches | Account closed, coins forfeited |
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, say so. Email hello@ossaispace.com from the address on your account, with your username and roughly when it happened.
- A different reviewer handles the appeal — never the person who made the original call.
- We answer within 14 days.
- Where we were wrong, we restore rank, coins and season progress in full.
Responsible play
NaijaGamez has no real-money gambling, no cash-out and no wagering. Coins are cosmetic and can never be converted back to money. Even so, games are meant to fit around your life rather than take it over.
Tools built into the app
- Play reminders — a gentle nudge after 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
- Daily limits — cap your own playing time; the cap can only be raised the next day.
- Spend limits — set a monthly ceiling on coin purchases.
- Take a break — lock your account for 7, 30 or 90 days.
All of these live in Settings → Wellbeing.
Playing with children? Family accounts default to friends-only chat, no public leaderboards, and purchases disabled until a parent enables them.
